HOT & HOT
We went back to Wickaboag because the guys that fished this trail two years ago asked if we could go back this year – and it did not disappoint. All but one team caught a limit and not only were there some decent largemouth, but some fine smallies were in the mix. This date went into the record books as one of the hottest in history and after the sun finally poked through the overcast skies – it was brutally HOT.
There are several meaning for the word “hot.” My wife is hot, but we will leave her out of this. The only way to eat chowder is when it is hot. It is important when you are messing with electricity to know which wire is hot. AND Randy Phillips and Wayne Marquis are very HOT. MassBASS Nation put Wayne in our Hall of Fame – he is that good. His partner, Randy, has won the BASS Nationals which put him in the BassMasters Classic. He has been a constant winner – either with a partner or without.
Yesterday at Wickaboag Randy and Wayne came in with a limit that weighed 14.06 pounds, which included a big SM. ($560) and Lunker. They won Friday and with the drop they have 3 wins that total 600 points. In second place was the ever present money collectors Jim and Jack Moorey. They missed winning by just ,03 ounces with 14.03. ($370)
Last tournament of the year for qualifying for the TOC is on: Buffumville Reservoir. - August 16th. After the hog caught last week here (see post), there should be a big turnout. It is a great reason to tell your boss that in a few weeks you will not be feeling well. You may not qualify for the TOC, but the payouts are huge and this is great reservoir – so come fish for something BIG.

7/7/2019 Cold front conditions and Holiday weekend
The Sunday Classic Team Trail team Trail had it 3rd tourney at Merrimack River in Methuen. Given the Holiday weekend turnout was low and sadly weights were as well. Last time we had a team trail event at the Merrimack, the top three places had bags over 15lbs. Today we only had two bags in double digits. Needless to say the post frontal conditions made it tough. A pair of Massmasters, Dusty Chaulk and Matt Klinker pulled the win out with 13.44lbs a good bag. They also had lunker with a 4.23 largemouth. Congrats guys!!
Thank you everyone for coming our next event and last open event will be on Webster Lake 8/4 see everyone there.
